        LED is abbreviated by Light Emitting Diode. It’s best described as a lighting bulb which is smaller than the size of dime. On the other word, the diodes have a life expectancy of 100,000 hours or 11.5 years of continuous working, therefore, it is more economical than the standard incandescent lighting bulb.

        PIXEL is short for picture element. Pixels are points of light that illuminate to form letters, words, graphics, animation and video images. A pixel can be made up of a single LED, multiple LED of the same color or multiple colors. A pixel is the smallest element of the electronic display system that can be individually controlled. It can be turned off or on at various brightness levels.

        PIXEL PITCH The distance from the center of a pixel to the center of the next pixel. It influences the resolution of a LED display that shows images. Longer distances require less resolution, and shorter distances require higher. You can click here for reference.

        RESOLUTION is defined as the number of pixels contained in the physical area of an electronic display. The greater the number of pixels per square foot, the greater the amount of detail displayed.

       VIEWING DISTANCE The distance between your sign and its viewers, it is one factor in determining the type of LED display you will need. Longer distances require less resolution and shorter distances require higher resolutions.

       BRIGHTNESS is one of the most important characteristics of any display. The main unit of brightness for light sources is candela (cd). The brightness of individual LED is usually expressed in mill candelas (mcd - a thousandth of a candela). If individual LED brightness in one square meter is added together, we get the value of area brightness. It is expressed in Nits (1 Nit = 1 cd/m2 - candelas per square meter).
